Water supplies sometimes include minerals and salts that not only taste bad, but also can damage pipes, plumbing fixtures, and other devices. A water softener removes unwanted minerals from the water supply. Go Green Express Home Services, Inc. is one of only two companies in the Hudson Valley that have been certified to sell the Sanitizer® by WaterRight®.
Hard water problem? We provide effective treatment solutions for hard water problem!
A water softener is an appliance designed to remove minerals from water through an ion-exchange process. Water flows through a bed of sodium impregnated resin beads. Mineral ions are drawn to the beads ,where sodium ions are then added to the water. The water softener unit recharges the beads with potassium chloride or brine solution.
Residential water softeners typically are typically installed where the main water line enters the home. Some systems will bypass faucets and fixtures that don't require soft water, such as toilets and outside water systems.

Water Treatment Steps:
1. BrineTank is 2/3 filled with Salt Crystals
2. Untreated Water enters Brine tank and becomes saturated with salt (sodium)
3. Sodium saturated water transferred to Resin Tank
* Polystyrene Beads attract the Sodium Molecules
* Unneeded extra salt water is purged to waste line
* The Resin Tank is now ready to treat Hard Water
4. Untreated (Hard) Water enter Resin Tank
* Calcium & Magnesium (Hard Water) trade places with Sodium Molecules
* Calcium & Magnesium are now attached to Polystyrene Beads
* (No more Sodium Molecules to trade? Go back to Step #3)
5. Softened Water is released to household.
The performance of a water softener is dependent on two components - a resin bed that cleans the water and precision equipment that cleans the resin. The two most significant elements that differentiate one softener from another is the volume of resin and the type of control valve.

Most water softeners usually require little maintenance other than a periodic salt refill. From regular tune-ups to major repairs, you can count on Go Green Express Home Services, LLC to get your water softener system working at peak performance. We can repair any brand of water softener, water filtration or drinking water system.
Before you decide to replace your softener, have the unit checked out by a water softener specialist. A softener head can usally be overhauled or the resin bed can be replaced for much less than a complete system replacement.
